Wii Sports for Seniors Video

Check out this video on the Observer-Reporter‘s homepage of local seniors Wii bowling in the Teen Room! While you’re still asleep in the morning, they’re honing their skills. Got grandparents or older neighbors who you think might be interested in participating? Show them this video and urge them to come to the library on Mondays at 10:30am!

Thanks to Harry Funk and Rebecca Mack for creating this fantastic video!

Wii Sports for Seniors (as in older adults, not high schoolers)!

The library is beginning a Wii Sports program for older adults.  It will begin Monday, June 9 and run from 10:30am to 12pm.  I know, I know, what does this have to do with you…  You probably have grandparents, or older neighbors, who may not get out that much.  Or who may not be able to do the active things, like golf & bowling, that they used to.

Tell them about this program!  If they don’t know what Wii or Wii Sports is, explain it to them.  Let them know that they can bowl again without having to pick up a 10 lb. bowling ball!  Better yet, come to the program with them!  We are going to have teen volunteers on hand to teach the adults how to use the Wii-mote, but it might be more comfortable for them to learn from someone they know!

Let your older adults know that the program will meet Monday, June 9, 16, 23, & 30, from 10:30am to 12pm in the Teen Reading Room.  Also, they should register ahead of time at the Circulation Desk.
